HOW WAS AGORA BORN?
ÁGORA WAS BORN IN 2021, AFTER SEVERAL YEARS ORGANIZING THE EXPERIMENTAL PHOTO FESTIVAL OF BARCELONA.
At the end of each edition, many participants wanted the energy, learning, and community of the festival to continue throughout the year.
Thus was born Agora, School of Experimentation: an online space inspired by the agora of ancient Greece, understood as a place of meeting, dialogue and exchange.
WHAT IS AGORA?
Agora is an online school dedicated to experimental photography, where artists, teachers and students from all over the world come together to Learn, Create and Share.
Through courses, projects and mentoring, we explore experimental techniques, share processes and build an international community based on practice, error, chance and creativity.
MISSION
We guide our students in a collaborative environment where they can explore new ideas, techniques, and processes in experimental photography. We want to help them develop their artistic practice and transform their passion into tangible projects : exhibitions, publications, and new creative opportunities.
VISION
To create an international space for learning and experimentation where photography is experienced as a continuous, transformative, and shared process. A place to try, make mistakes, research, and grow artistically and personally.

We work with artists, teachers and students from different countries, creating an international space for learning, experimentation and support.
Although our community is located in many places, we share the same meeting point: a virtual space where we can learn, create and share experimental photography throughout the year.
OTHER PROJECTS
The Experimental Photo Festival is an international event dedicated to experimental photography in all its forms. It brings together artists, photographers, researchers, and the public to share, learn, and explore new ways of creating and understanding images through exhibitions, workshops, conferences, and networking opportunities.
The International Photography Festivals Association (IPFA) is an international network connecting photography festivals worldwide. Its aim is to foster collaboration, the exchange of knowledge and best practices, and to contribute to the professionalization and sustainability of the photography and cultural sector.
The Experimental HUB is the permanent exhibition and meeting space of the Experimental Photo Festival in Barcelona. It functions as a connection point for artists and visual disciplines, giving visibility to proposals in experimental photography, video, visual poetry, and other forms of creation.
