Luciana Merino

Luciana began her photography training working in the black and white lab, first understanding the technical aspects and then applying them to the message she seeks to capture in each series or project. The phrase "The medium is the message" guides her work. She is interested in the intimate—memory, family, childhood—but also in space and context as fundamental elements that shape our identity.

For her, photography is a blank canvas where light and chemicals allow her to paint a supra-reality, a blend of the conscious and the dreamlike, precision and chance.

Studying the Experimental Photography diploma program is an opportunity for me to continue my photochemical exploration. Beyond the technical aspects, I truly value sharing with others who are also searching for their own path, listening to great masters speak from their experiences, and feeling part of a community that values analogy, process, and unpredictability. In such a digital and fast-paced context, the Agora manifesto helped me reconnect with the importance of letting go of control, leaving room for error, intuition, and constant learning, without losing the perseverance to keep improving.
