AGORA, ONLINE SCHOOL OF EXPERIMENTAL AND CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY

How does it hold up?

Transparency

No filters or retouching!

Agora, School of Experimentation, is a space for learning and horizontal exchange around experimental photography. To carry out the 15 courses and nearly 500 hours of content that we propose for the 2025-2026 academic year, we need to cover a series of expenses, most of which are fixed costs. This means that these are payments we must make before starting the program and that do not depend on the number of students enrolled in each course.

We recognize our greatest asset is people, and that's why we strive for fair prices so participants can find content affordably while also providing the best possible compensation for the dedication of our teachers and staff. However, this balance is compounded by other variables that are often overlooked and that relate to costs associated with pedagogical, financial, and communications management, among others: design, communications, website, postage, video editing and production, subtitling, payment for digital platforms, bank fees, back office costs, accounting, artists, collaborators, and everything else that contributes to generating quality, diverse, and innovative content.

From affordable options like two-hour workshops and lectures to live programs like the one-year Diploma, we offer a wide variety of content for all types of students at a variety of prices and formats without compromising the quality of our products. Our main goal is to ensure that no one is excluded from learning about experimental photography due to financial constraints.

In the table below, we share the budget for our fifth fiscal year, the 2025-2026 academic year, with a breakdown of income and expenses. To summarise, for this academic year, we need €52,000 , of which we will proportionally use 38% to pay our teachers and their royalties, 34% to pay Ágora staff salaries, and 28% to cover operational expenses and audiovisual content production. It's important to remember that non-formal education in Spain has a 21% VAT rate, which means that 21% of our earnings go to taxes. Our salaries for all human resources are assigned based on their hours of dedication, with the following hourly rate: artist/teachers, €50; moderator, €30; management, direction, design, communications, sales, and back office, €22.

We are a community, and we believe transparency is essential to continuing this relationship of trust with our students.
