Residency of Francesco Amorosino at RadLab Studio, Bulgaria

Our collaboration with Francesco began almost a year ago, during the Horizontal Portfolio Review, part of the Experimental Photo Festival 2024 in Barcelona, one of the major international events for experimental photography in Europe. I was invited to represent RadLab on the platform, and Francesco was one of the artists who presented their work, which immediately caught my interest.

Francesco Amorosino (@francesco_amorosino_art) does more than take photographs: he uses photography as a research tool to explore systems of beliefs and identities. Combining historical and experimental techniques, he goes beyond the image and seeks new possibilities in visual language. At that moment, I thought: “Hmm, maybe Bulgaria could interest him with all its cultural richness,” and inviting him to take part in a traveling photographic residency with RadLab was something completely natural, born from shared interests.
