About the event
During the workshop, we will learn to experiment with the cyanotype technique using photographs of participants and plants. Cyanotype is an experimental photographic system discovered in the 19th century. Thanks to this method, we can remember the first female photographer, Anna Atkins, with the first photobook of botanical species. This technique uses sunlight as the primary source for developing photographs, making the results unique. We will experiment with different media such as paper, glass, and fabric, among others. We will develop other possibilities offered by this technique, such as toning, using everyday items like tea and coffee. Finally, we will explore the wide range of opportunities this experimental process offers.
