Cristina was born and raised in Argentina. In 2006, her move to Canada marked a turning point, transforming her career in administration into an artistic pursuit rooted in nature.
Settled in North Vancouver, she discovered the work of Uruguayan architect and photographer Federico Ruiz Santesteban. Inspired by his approach, she decided to combine images and nature, employing techniques such as chlorophyll prints, natural development methods, and anthotypes .
She participated in their workshops held at Espacio Hiedra in Uruguay, adapting these processes to the climate of the west coast of Canada, experimenting with artificial light sources since 2023 and organically cultivating the plants she uses in her processes.
She participated in the virtual gallery of the Barcelona Experimental Festival in 2024-2025 and contributed to collective books from AlternativePhotography.com (Anthotypes Emulsion Vol. 3 and Art & Artist Vol. 2)
The Agora Diploma allows me to see a large community of creators, researchers, and constant inspiration . Every meeting is important to me; being able to witness another artist's creative process is a privilege. It allows me to incorporate techniques, exchange processes, and gain a wealth of knowledge for my current and future work.

Chlorophyll ancestors
A sustainable vision
I believe in eco-conscious art. If leaves and flowers could see us, I imagine them as living mirrors, extending their function beyond photosynthesis to become symbolic and interactive portals. My work is an invitation to reflect on our environmental footprint through the beauty of experimental photography.
I don't do any post-processing or use chemical fixatives. I intentionally embrace the ephemeral and the beauty of impermanence, challenging the traditional notion that art should last forever. For me, the fleeting nature of these pieces is part of their emotional impact in the present.
The catalog from the late 19th century finds its reflection in today's chlorophyll. It is not merely an impression; it is a luminous gestation where the ancestor reclaims its place in the present. Work in progress.
